TREATMENT OF OSTEOPOROSIS

There are lots of approaches to treating osteoporosis

These approaches are hormone replacement therapy, medication, nutrition and diet, and exercise.

First is hormone replacement therapy. What is hormone replacement therapy? Hormone replacement therapy replaces hormones that are below level than the normal. When estrogen hormones are reaching the normal level, it can now help in lowering the chances of bone fractures. But there is a downside to it; while it helps in lowering the bone loss it may somehow create other health concerns. Medical professionals may want to entertain some other medications first.

Second is the medication. The medications help the bones to be strong. There are too many to mention but some of these medications are Bisphosphonates and Zoledronic acid. But then again there are downsides to it same with the hormone replacement therapy so careful and strict management should be followed. Always consult a medical professional for the guidance of the management of medications.

The third is the nutrition and diet. What we eat is the most important factor that contributes to the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis. The food should be rich in calcium as we know that calcium feeds the bones to keep it strong. For proper absorption of calcium, our body will need Vitamin D. Since not all of the food is rich in calcium and vitamin D, taking a supplement will help. A reminder before taking any supplement, get advice from a medical professional.

And the last on the list is the exercise and active lifestyle click here. Keep our body moving at all times and it will keep our bones active and alive. A sedentary lifestyle is one of the contributing causes of osteoporosis, so to avoid this disease we should always be on the go. Thus, exercise and active lifestyle help a lot in the early prevention of osteoporosis.
